The Financial Forum welcomes Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging on Tuesday, May 25th at 3:00 P.M. for a Zoom presentation on Elder Abuse Awareness. Elder abuse has risen during the pandemic and continues to affect way too many of our vulnerable senior population. This presentation describes how to identify various types of elder abuse, report elder abuse, and discuss our responsibilities for reporting Elder Abuse. Our presenters will be Terri Tobey, Margueriette Williams, and Stefany Martinez.

Terri Tobey

Terri Tobey holds an M.A. in Gerontology. She has worked in the senior field for the past 20 years in various capacities including, health & wellness, fitness, geriatric care management, and business development.

She moved to Rossmoor in 2018 and has been working for Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging as their Money Management Volunteer Program (MMVP) Director and Care Manager.

Terri volunteers as a member-at-large with the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging and chairs their Elder Abuse Workgroup. She serves on the board for End Of Life Concerns and is a member of the Financial Forum, Wellness Club, Tennis Club, and RLSC.

Stefany MartinezStefany Martinez is a Social Worker III with Contra Costa County Adult Protective Services (APS). She is a front-line APS Social Worker who investigates reports of abuse and neglect of seniors and dependent adults.



Margueriette Williams

Margueriette Williams is a Senior Staff Assistant (Data Analyst Project Manager) with Contra Costa Adult Protective Services (APS). Her role with APS is analyzing and reporting on elder and dependent adult abuse statistics for three elder abuse projects. She also advocates for the APS clients and facilitates the Financial Abuse Strike Team meetings with the Social Workers and other agencies to address complex Financial Abuse cases.
