Speakers: Michael Townsend

Join Schwab’s Washington insider for an entertaining and informative discussion of the latest policy and political developments in Washington and their impact on the markets and individual investors.

Townsend will provide the latest intelligence from Washington on trade, taxes, the budget, and the regulatory environment, as well as share his perspective on the recent midterm elections. With more than 25 years of experience working “inside the Beltway,” Townsend is uniquely qualified to cut through the noise of Washington and help investors understand what they should be paying attention to in the fast-changing political landscape.

Townsend earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Bowdoin College and an MBA in English from George Mason University. He previously served as press secretary and legislative assistant to Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine). From 1993 to 1996, Townsend was an aide to Senator William S. Cohen (R-Maine), serving as assistant press secretary and later as press secretary to the Senate Special Committee on Aging, which Cohen chaired.
